Plickers is an innovative online formative assessment tool. Questions are projected from a computer for students to read (they are either multiple choice or true false questions). Each student is given an answer card which the orient to give the correct answer.
PLICKERS CARDS
Students orient the card with the correct letter at the top of the card for multiple choice questions
For true or false questions they use either A (True) or B (False)
Each student is assigned the own card and the cards are linked to each student when setting up the class

SETTING UP THE CLASS

The same cards can be used by different classes so long as the students have been assigned numbers

ADDING QUESTIONS
Once questions are added the correct answer can be selected. This allows the program to present real time feedback on who has the correct answer (optional to display) and the percentage of the class who have given the correct answer

USING PLICKERS IN THE CLASSROOM
The plickers app needs to be downloaded to your smart phone or tablet.
The screenshots to the left (taken from the i-tunes app store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/plickers/id701184049?mt=8)
show what the teacher sees when running the app.
The app uses the device's built-in camera to scan the room and detect the students answers. When they have been detected a green box with the student's name appears on the screen and the students name also goes green on the screen projected from the computer. This allows the teacher and student to know that their answer has been recorded
The teacher closes off the questions once they have collected all answers
The teacher can then assign the next question
