VCE Biology - Your Body at War. International Immunology Day - Gene Technology Access Centre (GTAC)
By Roshika Senevirathne (STEM Captain)
Who said VCE had to be all about books and studying? On the 4th of May, 10 selected Unit 3/4 Biology students were given the chance to get up and interactive at the Gene Technology Access Centre (GTAC). It gave students the opportunity to talk to well known Australian immunologists, as well as run experiments that allowed us to use up-to-date science technology. This not only educated us on diseases and pathogens (which are a part of the Unit 3 course), but opened up options for possible future careers. So cease those opportunities when they present themselves, as you don't know what you might find to feed your curious minds.
