On May 24th and 25th our year 7 students participated in a field investigation looking at the Human Impacts on and health of the Heatherton Road Wetlands. They were ably mentored by our enthusiastic year 11 VCE students who assisted them to collect their data. The students profiled the site and examined the Human impacts. They collected and classified waterbugs through ponding and tested a variety of abiotic factors such as the air and water temperatures, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, nitrate concentration, phosphate concentration and salinity.
